Annette Kelm | Visual Art
Annette Kelm studied at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Hamburg. She lives and works in Berlin. Annette Kelm works conceptually with photography, drawing on classical genres of photographic history, which she develops further and modernizes from a contemporary perspective. Her photographic works consciously point beyond the objects themselves: to social contexts, to images of history and cultural practices, to the use and power of images.
In Los Angeles, Annette Kelm will continue her work on objects and places of exile literature, which is based on intensive research. She would like to explore the theme of transit in architecture. Exile as a place of transit will serve as a starting point for examining the after-effects of the exile experience in the city's present-day cultural and social fabric.
