Oxana Omelchuk | Composer (together with Julie Pfleiderer)
Oxana Omelchuk was born in Belarus. She completed her master's degree in composition with Prof. Johannes Fritsch and studies in Electronic composition with Prof. Michael Beil.
Collaboration with the ensemble Musikfabrik (Cologne), ensemble Garage (Cologne), ensemble handwerk (Cologne), ensemble mosaik (Berlin), Schlagquartett Köln, SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart, Klangforum Wien, Studio Dan (Vienna), Ensemble Ictus (Brussels).
Various awards and scholarships (including DAAD scholarship in 2003, Bernd- Alois Zimmermann grant from the city of Cologne in 2006, residency scholarship in the artist village of Schöppingen 2007, Baldreit grant from the city of Baden - Baden 2009, scholarship from the Cologne Kunstverein 2011).
Oxana Omelchuk is a musician in various formations, e.g. In the duo with Constantin Herzog (analogue synthesizer and double bass), with Florian Zwißler (electric organs and analogue Synthesizers), in the trio “Redaktion Heinz Liesendahl” with Florian Zwißler and Mark Polscher and in “Paradoxana” with Constantin Herzog, Manfred Ruecker Ketonge and Fabian Jung.
2017-2018: Recording of the Portrait-CD of the “Edition Zeitgenössische Musik des Deutschen Musikrates”.
Oxana Omelchuk lives and works in Cologne.
