After completing her design studies Anne Katrin Hendel worked as a freelance costume and set designer in the theater. In 2004 she founded the film production company IT Works! Media GmbH and produced feature and documentary films. Since 2008 Hendel directed several movies herself and received numerous awards for her documentary film. Scholarships include the DEFA, the Robert Bosch Stiftung and the Künstlerhaus Lukas. Annekatrin Hendel is a member of the German Film Academy.
