Christian Frosch graduated from the “GLV”, college for graphics in Vienna. After studying photography, he enrolled at the Filmakademie Vienna and received a degree at the DFFB Berlin. The screenplay for his movie debut, the psychological thriller Die Totale Therapie (1996) with Blixa Bargeld was awarded the Carl Meyer Preis der Stadt Graz and screened at numerous international festivals. Frosch's second feature film, the semi-documentary film essay k.af.ka fragment (2001) was awarded the “Pearl of the World Award” at the Film Festival Rotterdam and the “Special Jury Prize” at the International Film Festival in Sochi, Russia.

Frosch has been working as a writer, producer and documentary filmmaker in Austria and Switzerland. In 2002, he co-founded the world movie production company weltfilm with Kristina Konrad and Ursula Scribano. Christian Frosch lives in Berlin and Baden near Vienna.
