Eva Castringius | Artist
Eva Castringius studied art at the Berlin University of the Arts from 1993-1999 with Prof. Leiko Ikemura. From 2015 to 2017 she was a fellow of the graduate program Aesthetics of the Virtual at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Hamburg. In 2001, Eva Castringius was Fellow at Villa Aurora in Los Angeles. During her stay, she created her photo series "The Big Sky," which was shown as solo exhibition at the Museum Marin-Gropius-Bau (Berlin) in 2002 and subsequently traveled to the South Kinross Gallery (University of California, Los Angeles). Since then, her work has been shown internationally in museums and galleries.
In her current work, Eva Castringius researches the (photographic) visibility or materialization of radiation, especially radioactivity. The combination of scientific writing and artistic-practical work includes her thematic research in archives and in the field.
