Events | Via Lewandowsky: "Good God"
Bamberg | December 18, 2019 – February 2, 2020
It is visible from a distance already and it shines at night: the ten-meter-wide neon sculpture "Good God" by Berlin artist and 2009 Villa Aurora Fellow Via Lewandowsky. Mounted at a lofty height between the towers of the east chancel of the Bamberg Dome, which is more than 1000 years old, it is radiating from the Domberg onto the city since the summer, thus simultaneously describing a central leitmotif of the exhibition in the neighboring Diözesanmuseum. The work was supposed to be taken down with the end of the exhibition „Funke Gottes“ (The Spark of God) however, it will now stay on until Candlemas on February 2, marking the ancient end of Christmas, lighting up the Bamberg nights and radiating the name of God into the city.
