Friends of Villa Aurora is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization. It runs an artists’ residence in the former home of Lion and Marta Feuchtwanger’s in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles. In addition to being a venue for international artistic exchange the Villa is also a reminder of the cultural heritage of the German and European exiles who found refuge in Southern California in the 1930 and 40s. Starting in 2017, the organization has been running the Thomas Mann House in Pacific Palisades as a place for transatlantic encounter and debate.
Even though Villa Aurora is generously funded by the Federal Foreign Office and the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, we are obligated to raise additional funds to be able to continue promoting transatlantic dialogue through public events and artistic endeavors featuring returning fellows. This house has always been and still is a glamorous place on a tight budget. Friends like you help us to keep the lights on and support ongoing international cultural exchange.
Your donations have allowed us to restore our historic pipe organ, which has since played a vital part in our programming. Donations are tax-deductible and entitle you and your guest to attend ticketed programs at the Villa for free or at reduced rates. With your contribution you are part us, a family of friends of the arts and supporters of international cultural exchange.
Thank you very much for your support.
