Sung Tieu | Visual Art

Sung Tieu, born in Hai Duong, Vietnam, is a Berlin-based visual artist. She studied fine arts at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste, Hamburg, and at Goldsmiths College, London. She also completed a postgraduate program at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. Her multidisciplinary exhibitions combine sculpture, drawing, text, sound and video to interrogate mechanisms of control and their psychological effects. Her work combines extensive research with autobiographical elements to examine both personal and institutional structures.
At Villa Aurora, Sung Tieu will be working on a sound installation that takes up the theme of fracking.
Data from the online database FracFocus will be artistically processed and transformed into acoustic information that also appeals to the listener on a visual level.
