Patrick Findeis, born 1975 in Heidenheim, Germany, lives and works as a writer in Berlin. He studied comparative literature at the University of Bonn before attaining his degree from the Deutsche Literaturinstitut Leipzig (German Institute for Literature in Leipzig). He published short stories and essays in various magazines such as EDIT, Sprache im technischen Zeitalter, Neue Rundschau. His debut-novel "Kein schöner Land" was awarded with the 3-Sat-Prize at the Tage der deutschsprachigen Literatur (Ingeborg-Bachmann-Prize) in Klagenfurt in 2008, and the Kunstpreis Literatur Brandenburg in 2009.
