Ali Soozandeh emigrated to Germany in 1995 and studied media technology in Cologne. Since 2005 he works as a freelance filmmaker. He is responsible for numerous animations in short, feature films and documentaries, amongst other in TEHRAN TABOO (world premiere in Cannes 2017), THE WOOL (2nd place animation at NextFrame Film Festival 2001, Philadelphia), CONTRAST (Jury Award at Thalmässinger Filmfest 2002), SALAMI ALEIKUM and THE GREEN WAVE, both of which have received numerous awards.
