Luise Schröder | Visual Artist
- 1982
- born in Potsdam
Luise Schröder graduated in Media Arts from the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig. During her stay at Villa Aurora she will be working on the history of the internment of the Japanese-Americans between 1942 and 1945. The Manzar War Relocation Center and the archive of Toyo Miyatake, who has been interned himself, will be at the center of her research. The work is focusing on the particular photographic point of view and the role of the photographer as an ’author of history’. Schröder will also document the annual commemoration at the Manzanar War Relocation Center at the end of April.
