Karin Apollonia Müller lives and works in California and Germany. She studied film and photography at the renowned Folkwang school in Essen, Germany. She has been dealing with the notion of „space“, specifically the relationship of human being to his environment. In her work she asks herself the continuos questions of who we are, what we are and where we are coming from.

She has received numerous awards and fellowships, among them a DAAD grant, an artist commission from the Getty/CAL Arts Grant, a Lannan fellowship and Villa Aurora grant. She has published three monographs “Angels in Fall” by Kruse publishers, Hamburg, Germany; “On Edge”, by Nazraeli Press, El Paso de Roblos, California; Timbercove, by Nazraeli Press, El Paso de Roblos, California. Her work has been placed in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art, New York; The Whitney Museum, New York; SF Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco; LACMA, Los Angeles, among others.
