Valeska Peschke studied History of Art and Ideas, Architecture and Fine Arts in the USA and at the Berlin University of the Arts (UDK). Since 1996, she has participated in various international exhibitions. She co-funded the artist collective, Stadt im Regal, and has received numerous grants,awards and residencies. She was a guest professor at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, USA and the Dresden College of Visual Arts, Germany (HfbK Dresden).
The artwork of Valeska Peschke is based on ideas and their semblances, referring to fictional or ideal place, time and context. Her themes comprise the essence of architecture, urban planning, the substance of transformation, mobility, behaviors, memory and mapping.
