Pierre Mumbere Mujomba is one of Congo’s most important playwrights. After studying linguistics (French, African languages) he taught French at various schools and institutes and was in charge of the Archives and Museum of Literature Project at the Congo National Library.

He founded numerous theater groups in schools and universities and participated in several theater productions, theater festivals and seminars. His play La dernière envelope was awarded the “Prix Découverte RFI Théâtre Sud” in 1999, and performed by the Lark Theatre Company 2002 in New York.
