Norbert Kron studied comparative literature and literary studies at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich. During his studies, he also began working as a journalist and author. Since 1992, Kron has been living in Berlin and working as a freelance cultural journalist for television shows such as ttt – titel, thesen, temperamente and for print media including: Tagesspiegel, Die Welt, and ZEIT.

Norbert Kron founded the literary magazine Konzepte and has published numerous essays and prose in journals such as Akzente and Sinn und Form. Autopilot was his debut novel. In his novels and narrative texts, Kron examines social relations in the media world, focusing on human relationships and relationship models between men and women.
