NIKLAS GOLDBACH - RECENT WORKS
Discussion with Niklas Goldbach, and reception following the presentation.
In many of his photographs and videos, Niklas Goldbach examines tensions between the individual and society, and between architecture and nature. The selection Goldbach will screen features a number of major construction projects, their visionary potential, their social implications, but also the failures. In his early works, people appear now and then in symbolic roles, but in the later, more conceptual films they vanish altogether. Meaning is invested instead in settings, whether built or natural. Goldbach uses artificial, almost immobilized spaces to explore social structures and visions, as well as issues like dominance and control.
Niklas Goldbach will present and discuss the following video works
- HABITAT C3B 8:10 min., Full HD, Stereo, 2008
- THE WORLD 7:15 min., HD Video, Stereo, 2012/2016
- LAND OF THE SUN 11:35 min., HD Video, Stereo, 2015
- FORM AND CONTROL: Boulevard De L’Europe 6:04 min., HD Video, stereo, 2016
- FORM AND CONTROL: Live at Revel 8:01 min., HD video, stereo, 2016
