For Albert Weis, space is domesticated by perception: the accommodations that people make between one plane and another, one texture and another, one place and another. Through installations, itineraries, public projects and simple wall hangings, Weis explores transitions as if they are a kind of detritus that impose their own aesthetic code.

Albert Weis lives and works in Berlin. From 1989 to 1997 he studied at the
Akademie der Bildenden Künste, and taught at the University of Kaiserlautern during 2002 and 2003.

In 2008, Weis has had exhibitions of his work at schauspiel Frankfurt, Centre d"Art Passerelle, Brest, Kunstmuseen Krefeld/Haus Lange; in previous years it has been seen at LE 9 BIS, St. Etienne, Sprengel Museum Hannover, Museum für Neue Kunst-ZKM (Karlsruhe), Haus der Kunst München, Kunstmuseum Bonn, and the Centre for Curatorial Studies-Bard College (New York).
