Peggy Buth's work reflects on European cultural values by exploring the relationship between art and artifact as it plays with the narratological sense of documentation. Her beautiful artist book Desire in Representation, guides us, almost innocuously, through the latent aggression performed
inside a singular personal relationship that is mirrored by the domination of one society over another.

Buth's attention to detail elicits complicity from her viewer/reader as it provokes both fascination and discomfort.

Buth trained at the Deutsche Fernsehfunk, working afterward as a
cutter. She studied at the St. Martin's College London and the Academy for Visual Arts Leipzig (Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig), from which she graduated in 2002, and continued her studies in Fine Arts with a post?graduate scholarship at the Jan van Eyck Academy Maastricht, 2004/2005. Buth recently showed her work at the Brussels Biennial 2008, Galerie Klemm's Berlin and 2007 at the Kestner Gesellschaft Hannover.
