Dietrich Brüggemann was born in 1976 in Munich and raised in Germany and South Africa. He attended Babelsberg Film School  “Konrad Wolf” in Potsdam, graduating with the film “Neun Szenen” (Nine Takes). His feature “Renn wenn du kannst” (“Run if you can”) opened the “Perspective on German Cinema” section at the Berlinale 2010 and won various awards. Brüggemann’s films have been shown on several film festivals and awarded a couple of prizes. Apart from making films, Brüggemann directed music videos and occasionally works as a musician, accompanying silent films with the artists collective 43CHARACTERS. At Villa Aurora, Brüggemann will be working on his new feature project “Lovely Sunny Days”, a story of three old friends who towards the end of their lives decide to catch up on drug abuse before it's too late.
